Jasprit Bumrah is a different beast on the field – Mahela Jayawardene

Mumbai Indians chief coach Mahela Jayawardene has stated that Jasprit Bumrah might be quiet but he is a different beast altogether on the field. Bumrah has been instrumental in the success of the Mumbai Indians and the right-arm pacer has done a fine job in the death overs.

Bumrah has been one of the deadliest yorkers in the game and he can bamboozle the best in the business. The gun pacer is mostly right on the money and he has got a plethora of variations under his arsenal. The ace paceman has taken giant strides and he has also learned a lot while bowling with Lasith Malinga.

Bumrah has scalped 82 wickets in 77 IPL matches at an average of 26.62 and economy rate of 7.56. The right-arm pacer has delivered in high pressure situations and he is known to keep a calm head on his shoulders.

On the other hand, Jayawardene added that Hardik Pandya is both loud on and off the field. The former Sri Lankan captain added that he enjoys managing different characters in the dressing room. Jayawardene has done a fine job as the coach of the side and he has led the team to two IPL titles in 2017 and 2019.

Mahela Jayawardene said while talking to Sony Ten PitStop Show, “Bums (Jasprit Bumrah) is quiet but when he goes out in the middle there is a different beast. Hardik (Pandya) can be a bit loud off the field and he can be loud on the field. I enjoy that. That dressing room, we got some amazing guys. So talented. It’s been a pleasure managing those guys and being part of the franchise.”

Mumbai Indians have a potent unit and the players as well as the coaching staff have collectively helped the team succeed. The Men in Blue is the most successful IPL side as they have won four IPL titles.

In fact, the team is not dependent on one or two individuals and mostly it is the collective team effort, which helps Mumbai in winning the matches. The team is also led by a confident leader in Rohit Sharma and he has got the best out of the players. All the players know their respective roles in the side and they have done well in the crunch situations of the big matches.
