Jitesh Sharma credits Dinesh Karthik after comeback match in AUS vs IND 2025 T20Is

Indian wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma gave credit to Royal Challengers Bengaluru assistant coach Dinesh Karthik after his comeback match. Sharma played in place of Sanju Samson and he scored an impressive unbeaten knock of 22 runs off 13 balls in the third T20I at Hobart.

The right-hander scored three boundaries in his attacking knock and added 43 runs with Washington Sundar to help India get over the line in the run-chase of 187.

Jitesh is known to play with an aggressive approach from the get-go and had delivered consistently for RCB in IPL 2025. The wicket-keeper bat scored 261 runs in 11 innings of the last season at a blistering strike rate of 176.35 and had played an instrumental role in the franchise’s success.

Jitesh revealed that Dinesh Karthik has worked a lot with him and gave him credit for his success.

“When I got to know I was playing the next match, I was very excited because I was playing a game after many days. I was trying to stay as calm and composed as possible and do things in my control. Special thanks to Dinesh Karthik because he has worked a lot with me. That’s why I was comfortable playing those shots. I just tried to show that I have come to dominate. I am a new batter and it is my first match of the series, does not mean I will take time. I showed good intent and it made the run chase easy,” Jitesh said. (Via Star Sports)

Jitesh Sharma has scored 122 runs in 10 T20 matches and he is certainly breathing on Sanju Samson’s neck as the Kerala batter has failed to take his chances while batting in the middle order.

The fourth T20I between India and Australia will be played on Thursday at the Bill Pippen Oval, Gold Coast.
