Karn Sharma Lauds Arjun Tendulkar’s Work Ethic Amid Trolls and Limited IPL Opportunities

Despite the burden of a legendary surname and limited chances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Arjun Tendulkar continues to earn quiet admiration through consistent hard work and discipline. Mumbai Indians teammate Karn Sharma, in an exclusive interview with Cricxtasy, praised the 25-year-old bowling allrounder for his unwavering commitment, both in the IPL and in domestic cricket.

“There’s no issue with trolling. In India, trolling is normal. But Arjun Tendulkar is very hardworking. He follows all routines, whether playing or not. He’ll come, do his work, bowl to four batters, do his gym,” Karn said. “IPL is such that once your playing XI is set, it’s hard to break in unless someone is injured or in really bad form.”

Arjun, who has been part of the Mumbai Indians setup since the 2021 auction, made his debut in 2023. He played three matches that season and took three wickets. In 2024, he featured in just one game and was benched for the entirety of the 2025 season. Despite limited appearances, Karn insisted that Arjun remains one of the hardest workers in the squad and never strays from his daily routines.

What stands out beyond the statistics is Arjun’s attitude. He is known for his discipline, humility, and curiosity, especially about his bowling craft. “He talks to everyone. He speaks to all senior players. He’s very curious about bowling, always asking questions. No arrogance at all [despite being Sachin Tendulkar’s son]. He’s very hardworking and a proper cricketer,” Karn added.

Away from the IPL spotlight, Arjun has been building his own name in domestic cricket. After shifting from Mumbai to Goa ahead of the 2022–23 season, he has grown in stature. On his first-class debut for Goa in December 2022, he scored a gritty 120 against Rajasthan. Most recently, in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy Plate League, he claimed 16 wickets in four matches. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he picked up four wickets in three outings.

“Whenever he played, he did well. Even for Goa in domestic, he performs well,” said Karn, expressing confidence in Arjun’s all-round potential.

While comparisons with his father, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, are inevitable, Arjun is carving out his own cricketing journey—quietly, diligently, and on his own terms. “You can’t compare him with Sachin. Sachin is God,” Karn summed up.
