Karun Nair shares delight after reuniting with KL Rahul for IPL 2025

In-form Karun Nair is happy to reunite with his former teammate KL Rahul for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025. Both Nair and Rahul, who played together for Karnataka, are part of Delhi Capitals’ squad.

While Rahul was bagged by the franchise for a whopping amount of 14 crore, Nair was roped in by Delhi for INR 50 lakhs in the mega auction.

Furthermore, the duo have also played together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.

Nair told the media, “It is exciting to be back with KL (Rahul). We have played together since the very first day. He has done well in the IPL for the last few seasons, and I am very happy to be back with him.”

Nair said he is happy to be back in DC and will look to give his absolute best for the franchise.

“I am really happy to be back at the Delhi Capitals. I am excited to join the side and to play with everyone. I will treat the game as important as the last one. I didn’t change much at all, I just trusted the process and kept it going throughout the tournament and that’s what was planned for this season.”

The Vidarbha captain also backed Axar Patel to deliver as a leader for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025.

“Axar has been around for a long time now and he is going to be a great captain. He is someone who knows all the facets of the game and understands everyone’s situation and roles. He will be versatile like he always is, and I am looking forward to meeting him and learning a lot,” he added.

Nair said he will look to continue his rich domestic form in the IPL and help DC clinch their maiden IPL title.

“The plan will be to replicate the past success we had domestically here for the Delhi Capitals and hope that Delhi can win its first title.”

“I will find my process, my rhythm as soon as I can and will try to start well early, then get better as the tournament goes on. The only thing that I have done is play according to the situation, added a few shots, and build the confidence to execute them when needed. I also now try to stay relaxed.”

Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on March 24.
