Madan Lal slams Pakistan’s batting, says he has never seen such shot-making in International cricket

Former Indian all-rounder Madan Lal has lashed out at Pakistan’s batting after they suffered an ignominious seven-wicket loss against India in the Group A fixture of the Asia Cup at Dubai on Sunday. After electing to bat first, Pakistan could only manage to post 127-9 in their 20 overs. The Men in Green got off to a poor start, losing Saim Ayub on the first legal delivery by Hardik Pandya.

After that, Pakistan batters could not get going against the Indian spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel. Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowlers as he returned with impressive figures of 3-18 in his quota of four overs. Furthermore, Axar Patel bagged 2-18 in four overs he bowled.

Pakistan could not get any impetus in their batting innings as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to put up a fight.

“Just look at the BCCI. It’s a multi-million industry now, taking Indian cricket to unprecedented heights. They focus on bettering infrastructure, creating a competitive environment by conducting India A matches, and whatnot. And that’s why our team’s standard is so high,” Madan Lal told News 18.

“Look at Pakistan. Jaisa wo khele hain… unmein talent hi nahi hai (They lack talent big time). I’ve never seen such shot-making in international cricket. Complete lack of skill,” he added.

The 1983 World Cup-winning player backed India to go all the way in the continental tournament.

“Play the game the way it should be played. Keep your spirits high. Play hard and win it. Bring the Asia Cup home,” he concluded.

India has been ticking the right boxes in T20Is, winning their last 27 matches out of the 30 games. Suryakumar Yadav’s team will next take on Oman at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Friday.
