Nitish Kumar Reddy credits KL Rahul after impressive Test debut against Australia

Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy gave credit to KL Rahul for his valuable tips after making an impressive Test debut against Australia at the Optus Stadium, Perth. Reddy top-scored with 41 runs in the first innings to help India post 150 runs in the first innings after adding 48 runs with Rishabh Pant

The right-hander then scored an unbeaten 38 runs off just 27 balls in the second essay. Reddy also accounted for Mitchell Marsh in the second innings and thus impressed one and all.

The Andhra batter revealed that Rahul told him to play at his own pace and not be hurried by the opposition.

“If I face any problem regarding anything, I just want to go and talk to KL bhai. I somehow feel that good vibes from him like whatever suggestion he gives it works for me. He said ‘Macha when you are going to the centre, you feel everything is going so fast, don’t go so fast, slow down the game because my first match went in my way,” Nitish said on BCCI.

“I went there and everything happened in a few seconds, I didn’t know what to do’. That really helped me and before going to bat, he gave me suggestions,” he added.

On the other hand, KL Rahul returned with scores of 26 and 77 runs in the opening Test and he was able to grab his opening position with both hands in the absence of full-time captain Rohit Sharma, who missed the opening Test due to personal reasons.

Rahul has been backed to open with Jaiswal in the second Test match, which is a pink-ball game. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first but the visitors lost in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal for a golden duck.
