India’s in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav has revealed he learned a lot from Sachin Tendulkar when he played franchise cricket with the former legendary batter. Yadav shared the dressing room with Tendulkar in the early years of his IPL career with Mumbai Indians.
Yadav made a move to Kolkata Knight Riders and then returned to Mumbai Indians. At that stage, Sachin had retired but served as a mentor for the Mumbai side. Sachin really had a good influence on Yadav and he was able to guide the talented player on the right path.
Meanwhile, SKY has been in the form of his life. The right-hander scored a breathtaking knock of 111 runs off just 51 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand with the help of 11 fours and seven sixes.
SKY’s blistering knock helped the team in posting a par score of 191 runs on the board and thus he was awarded the Player of the match after the visitors won by 65 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
After his blistering knock, both Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli took to Twitter to heap praise on the Mumbai batter.
Yadav said on Chahal TV, “It feels good when people send messages or tweets about my innings,” he said. “I have learned a lot from Sachin [Tendulkar] sir when I used to play franchise cricket with him. I also learn a lot from Virat [Kohli] when we play together now, it feels very good.”
On the other hand, it is well known that the Indian team always gets good support from their fans wherever they play in the world.
“There are so many people out here, it feels really good to see the support that the Indian team is getting. I noticed one fan and I am going to call him out here, I want to see what questions he has for me.”
SKY was brilliant in the second game and he would want to carry the same form. The 32-year-old also scored 239 runs in six matches in the T20 World Cup at a whirlwind strike rate of 189.68 and an average of 59.75.
Suryakumar Yadav is a key part of India’s middle order and he is ticking the right boxes.
