India’s fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand. Krishna has failed to recover from a hamstring injury, which he had suffered in the second game against the West Indies.
The lanky pacer will instead join the India A squad for the third unofficial Test against New Zealand A but his selection is subject to fitness clearance.
In a statement, the BCCI said that Prasidh “will need additional time to build up the workload required to be ready for matches”. No replacement has been named in the one-day squad for the Karnataka seamer.
Meanwhile, earlier Nitish Kumar Reddy was named for the whole One-Day series but he will now only play the opening game against the Kiwis. The all-rounder will join the India A squad for the third unofficial Test starting November 6, as the team management wants him to have some red-ball game time under his belt.
