PSL 2022: Mohammad Rizwan gives you the field you want, which is the best thing for a bowler – Imran Tahir

Multan Sultans leg-spinner Imran Tahir has heaped praise on the team’s captain Mohammad Rizwan as he stated that the wicket-keeper gives his bowlers the field they want. Multan Sultans have got off a dream start in ongoing PSL 2022 as they have won all their four matches of the season and they have ticked the right boxes as a unit.

Tahir went wicketless and conceded 35 runs in his quota of four overs however his bowling partner Khusdil Shah took four wickets for 35 runs against Islamabad United as Sultans won by 20 runs. Furthermore, David Willey continued his good form as he snared three wickets in his allotted four overs.

Imran Tahir has scalped seven wickets in four matches while Khusdil Shah has picked a total of nine wickets in four games and he is currently the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

Imran Tahir said after the game, “As the senior spinner I had to bowl from this end, but I am really happy for Khushdil. Rizwan is very easy going. We respect him as captain and we follow his orders. He gives you the field you want, which is the best thing for a bowler. He gives his opinion as well, which is always nice as a senior player. We are going to get a lot of confidence out of this. We have been lucky as a group, we work hard and enjoy each others’ success. We just need to carry on and enjoy whatever we do on the field”.

On the other hand, Tim David scored a fine knock of 71 runs off just 29 balls as he smashed six fours and as many sixes. Furthermore, Rilee Rossouw scored a fine knock of 67 runs from 35 balls to help his team post an above-par score of 217 runs.

Tim David, who was awarded the Player of the Match for his blistering knock, said in the post-match presentation, “It’s nice when you take the game on and it comes off like that. To have done it (defending) twice in a row is really pleasing. The boys have been playing really well at the top, so haven’t had much of an opportunity like today. It is always a happy change room when you win four in four. We have been having a good time and hopefull it continues”.

Multan Sultans will next face Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday at the same venue of National Stadium, Karachi.
