Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed gave credit to his bowlers after his team defeated Karachi Kings convincingly by eight wickets in the fourth match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2022 at National Stadium, Karachi on Saturday. Quetta Gladiators bundled out Karachi Kings for a paltry score of 113 runs inside 18 overs after Ahmed won the toss and decided to bowl first as they came up with a fine bowling show.
Quetta Gladiators got off to a dream start as Karachi Kings lost four wickets within the first five overs and were pegged on the backfoot. In fact, only four Karachi Kings batters could reach the double-digit mark.
Sarfaraz Ahmed said in the post-game presentation, “The credit for today’s win goes to our bowlers. Naseem was outstanding. I just asked my speedsters to use their pace. He (Hasnain) had a great domestic season and I’m happy that he’s taking advantage of the opportunity here”.
Sohail Tanvir scalped two wickets while Naseem Shah was the chief destroyer as he returned with impressive figures of 5-20 in 3.3 overs he bowled. Shah troubled the opposition with his extra pace and breathed down the neck with his bounce as took his maiden fifer in the tournament. The youngster was delighted with his performance as he contributed to the team’s win.
Shah said after the game, “I tried the same in the first game, focused on my lengths and tried my cutters, glad that it worked today. I played CPL and got a nice rhythm. I am working on my rhythm and fitness”.
On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators cruised to the total as they chased down the total in the 14th over. Ahsan Ali scored an unbeaten knock of 57 runs off 43 balls to get his team over the line. Will Smeed scored 30 runs while Sarfaraz Ahmed added the finishing touches with 16 runs.
