Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin showered praise on Sunrisers Hyderabad for signing Shivang Kumar in the IPL 2026 mini auction. The Orange Army roped in the services of the 23-year-old spin all-rounder at his base price of INR 30 lakhs.

The youngster played four matches for Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Kumar scalped four wickets at an economy rate of 8.05 and scored 59 runs at a strike rate of 143.90 in the domestic tournament.

Ravichandran Ashwin wrote on X, “Let’s add Shivang to the “watch out for this player” list for the upcoming IPL season. Shall we? Great spot @SunRisers.”

SRH also roped in the services of Amit Kumar in IPL 2026. Pat Cummins’ team had retained Zeeshan Ansari ahead of the auction. Ansari has been in stellar form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking 17 wickets in five matches at an average of 13.06. The leg-spinner is currently the leading wicket-taker of the 50-over tournament.

IPL 2026 will run from March 26 to May 31.
