After the first T20I was washed out due to persistent rain, the second game between India and South Africa will be played at St George’s Park, Gqeberha on Tuesday. South Africa will be in action for the first time since losing the World Cup semifinal against Australia whereas India will look to continue the winning impetus after a 4-1 series win against the Aussies.
India has picked almost a similar squad and thus some minor changes are expected in their playing XI. The likes of Rinku Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Mukesh Kumar must have grown in confidence after their impressive show against Australia and they will aim to carry the same against the Proteas to keep themselves in contention for the T20 World Cup.
The mission will be T20 World Cup 2024 for both of these teams and they will aim to test their bench strength in the absence of big names. India has only five T20Is to go before they play their maiden match of the T20I showpiece and it will be crucial for them to make the most of these games.
Suryakumar Yadav had impressed as a leader against Australia and he would aim to get the best out of his players against the hosts. SKY is also going to hold the key in the middle order for the visitors.
On the other hand, South Africa also has a lot of talent, and young players like Gerald Coetzee, Nandre Burger, Matthew Breetzke, and Tristan Stubbs will aim to grab their chance with both hands.
Match Prediction: India will enter the contest as favorites against South Africa.
