Former Indian batter Suresh Raina highlighted that Virat Kohli has done it all but noted the IPL trophy is missing in his glittering cabinet. The former CSK batter backed RCB to win the IPL 2025 title if Virat Kohli continues his rich form in the rest of the tournament.
Kohli has been in fantastic form in IPL 2025, scoring 505 runs in 11 matches of the tournament at an average of 63.13 and a strike rate of 143.47. Thus, Kohli would look to carry the same form in the rest of the competition.
“Absolutely, he has retired (from Tests) just now, and will get a different happiness if he wins RCB the trophy. He is RCB’s unbeatable strength. He has got everything in life, just the RCB trophy hasn’t come. He will definitely work hard for that. I feel RCB can lift the trophy this year if Virat Kohli plays ‘Virat’ knocks,” Suresh Raina said on Star Sports.
Raina said Kohli will need the support of other RCB players if they are to go all the way in the tournament.
“The other 10 players need to respond to him and stay alongside him. He knows how to read the situation. We have seen his running between the wickets along with his cricketing shots. A different energy will be seen now. He has already gotten a break. A different form will be seen. He has done it in the past, so why not now? He will be even more eager to do it now,” Raina observed.
RCB is in second place in the standings with eight wins in 11 games, and a total of 16 points and Kohli has played a key role in the franchise’s success.
RCB would look to first qualify for the playoffs and come up with a collective show in the rest of the tournament.
