Former Indian batter Suresh Raina feels Royal Challengers Bengaluru can end their Indian Premier League title drought this season as they have come up with impressive bowling performances. Josh Hazlewood has been the shining star for the franchise with 18 wickets in 10 games in the ongoing tournament. Furthermore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Krunal Pandya, Yash Dayal, and Suyash Sharma have done a decent job.

RCB is in second place in the standings with eight wins in 11 games, and a total of 16 points. The Bengaluru-based franchise has come up with a collective effort and thus have delivered as a unit.

Rajat Patidar has also led from the front in his maiden season as the franchise’s captain. Raina recalled that RCB has successfully defended sub-par scores in IPL 2025 while playing at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and credit goes to their bowlers.

“There are strong chances because Royal Challengers Bengaluru is playing in a different league this year. They’ve defended scores like 150 and 136 at Chinnaswamy, and their bowling unit has stepped up. The new captain has beaten Chennai Super Kings twice–once in Chennai and again at home, which speaks volumes,” Raina said on Star Sports.

Raina highlighted the RCB’s dressing room atmosphere is positive and they can go all the way in the tournament. The former CSK batter said this finally might be Virat Kohli’s year after 18 years of waiting.

“The dressing room is positive, and these are signs of a team that can go all the way. Yes, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings are also doing well, but this might finally be Virat’s year to lift the trophy after 18 years,” he added.

RCB has been ticking the right boxes as a unit this season and they would look to carry the good show.
