Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav became the second Indian batter to hit 150 sixes in T20Is, joining Rohit Sharma in the elite list. Yadav reached the milestone during the first T20I against Australia at the Manuka Oval, Canberra on Wednesday. The Indian skipper completed the milestone in 86 innings, becoming the fifth batter overall to reach the milestone.

The right-hander joins Martin Guptill, Jos Buttler, Muhammad Waseem and Rohit Sharma in the elite list. SKY scored an impressive knock of 39 runs off 24 balls, including three fours and two sixes. 

Meanwhile, Yadav had failed to lead from the front in the Asia Cup as he could not deliver the goods with the bat. The right-hander could only manage 72 runs in six innings at an average of 18 and a strike rate of 101.40 in the continental tournament. Furthermore, Yadav had not scored a fifty in the last 16 T20I innings before the Australia series.

Ergo, this unbeaten knock of 39 runs would give him a lot of confidence for the remaining four matches of the series. The match was called off due to rain after India managed 97-1 in 9.4 overs when they were put into bat by Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh.

Indian opener Shubman Gill also scored an impressive knock of 37 runs off 20 balls and he added 62 runs off 35 balls with Suryakumar Yadav. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Nathan Ellis after scoring 19 runs off 14 balls.

The second T20I between Australia and India will be played at the MCG on Friday.
