Former Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav said he would love to steal Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s six-hitting ability. Sooryavanshi has hogged the limelight for his power-hitting and has taken world-class bowlers to the cleaners in his young career.
Sooryavanshi had recently warmed the bench in the T20I series against Afghanistan as India went on to back Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma.
Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi has been in prime form as he scored 151 runs in three games against Zimbabwe when Sanju Samson was not picked in the squad. Furthermore, the left-hander scored 192 runs in five innings of the Duleep Trophy for East Zone.
The 15-year-old smashed 776 runs in 16 matches of IPL 2026 at a blistering strike rate of 237.30 while playing for Rajasthan Royals. Thus, he was awarded Player of the Tournament after finishing as the leading run-getter.
“There is a young boy, you must have heard his name — Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Definitely his six-hitting ability,” Suryakumar Yadav said on Humans of Bombay YouTube Channel.
Sooryavanshi is part of India’s squad for the Asian Games.
On the other hand, Yadav called it a stalemate when he was asked to pick one player between Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma.
“I started playing cricket because of Sachin sir. I was small, I used to watch him on TV, but I have played a lot of cricket with Rohit, under Rohit, so 50-50,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, SKY led India with great success and led the country to glory in the 2026 T20 World Cup. However, he was subsequently dropped from the national team after having a mundane run with the bat. SKY could only manage 270 runs in 13 matches for MI in IPL 2026.
