Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav has shed light on Pakistan’s boycott threat ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. SKY revealed his team would be traveling to Colombo for the match against Pakistan as per the tournament’s schedule but he is not sure about the opposition.

The Pakistan government has given permission to their cricket team to travel to Colombo for the World Cup but said Salman Agha’s team will not take the field against India on 15th February.

India and Pakistan recently met thrice in the Asia Cup and the former won all three games.

“Mindset is pretty clear. We haven’t said no to the game. The ICC has decided on a neutral venue. We are going to Colombo for sure. We don’t know about others. We will play the match on 7th and go to Colombo then,” SKY was quoted as saying by RevSportz.

“Their decision is not in my control. We played them 3 times in Asia Cup, we won and were happy. If we get the opportunity to play in Colombo, we will play them. It’s not my call. If the decision is coming from the government then I can’t do anything on it. The fixtures are ready and we will go to Colombo,” he added.

On the other hand, SKY revealed spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has all but recovered from his injury ahead of the World Cup.

“Tilak Varma got a break, didn’t play NZ series, he looked a different player when he came back. We spoke to Washington Sundar, he is almost there. We are willing to be patient with him,” he was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, dew is expected to play a major factor in the upcoming T20I showpiece and SKY said they will try to control the controllables.

“Dew is not a controllable. We will control what we can control. We are doing well batting 1st and chasing. We will take a call on the big matches. We have played a lot of matches when there is dew. We should look to ignore that factor,” he expressed.

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against the USA on February 7.
