Former legendary West Indies batter Sir Vivian Richards has revealed that he has been a big fan of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. While talking to sports journalist Vimal Kumar, Richards revealed that he is a big fan of Rohit Sharma even before the took the captaincy reins from Virat Kohli.
Sharma is well known to get the best out of his players and he has been doing a fine job for the team, both as a leader and a top-order batter.
Sir Viv Richards said, “I have always liked Rohit and especially when Virat was the captain. I have been a big fan of Rohit even before he became the captain.”
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will look to lead India to T20 World Cup glory as India last won a major ICC trophy back in 2013. Inda has started their preparations in Australia and all the players will look to give their best.
On the other hand, Richards revealed that he also admires Indian batting stars such as Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Tendulkar broke a plethora of batting records during his glorious career whereas Kohli has also followed suit.
”There is mutual respect between me and Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. I do have a lot of respect for what they have achieved. I admire Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
“I admire him and all those individuals who have built Indian cricket and played a vital role in making it the place it is today. I am a fan of good batsmen and you guys mean that great batsmen have always come to India.”
India has produced world-class batters and Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar are among the best we have ever seen in the sport.
