Sri Lanka will lock horns against South Africa in the fourth match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on Monday. The Proteas played a three-match T20I series in the Caribbean, which they lost but it would have certainly helped them in acclimatising to the conditions.
However, they will be opening their account in New York and the conditions are expected to be on the slow side. On the other hand, Sri Lanka was stunned by the Netherlands in the warm-up match and that should be an eye-opener for the Islanders.
Both of these two teams have not got the desired results in the major ICC events and they will look to come up with their best in the crunch moments of the big games.
Stats Preview:
South African captain Aiden Markram needs two fours and three sixes to complete 100 boundaries and 50 maximums respectively in his T20I career.
