Rajasthan Royals prodigy batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has expressed his desire to play for India for a long time after impressing one and all in the recently concluded IPL 2026 season. Vaibhav scored 96 runs off 47 balls against Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier at New Chandigarh on a tricky pitch, which had assistance for the fast bowlers, especially in the first innings.
The prodigy batter ended IPL 2026 season with 776 runs in 16 matches at an average of 48.50 and a blistering strike rate of 237.30. Thus, he bagged the Orange Cap award along with MVP of the season. He also won the Super Striker and Emerging Player of the season award.
Suryavanshi has impressed with his pyrotechnics and many feel he should get his maiden call-up in the Indian team.
“I also want to represent India for a long time and achieve a lot for myself, my family, and my team,” Sooryavanshi said on Star Sports.
“Whether it’s domestic cricket, the IPL or India, I will always try to contribute to the team and stay focused.”
Suryavanshi revealed that one of his main goals for IPL 2026 was to score 700 runs for RR and eventually he was able to score more than that.
“I had noted on my phone that I wanted to score 700 runs in this IPL. It’s still there. After every match, I would write my score against the team I played,” he revealed.
“That was a personal goal I achieved, but what I had hoped to achieve as a team didn’t happen. Hopefully, next year we can resolve that.”
The youngster scored five half-centuries and one hundred in IPL 2026 and consistently delivered for the inaugural champions.
