After India won the second Test match against South Africa convincingly by seven wickets, Indian players took a jump in the latest update of the ICC Men’s Test rankings. Mohammed Siraj who bowled an exceptional spell of 6-15 in the first innings, has risen by 13 places to get to the 17th spot in the bowler’s rankings.
India’s gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah delivered in the second innings as he returned with figures of 6-61. With the help of this performance, Bumrah was able to climb to fourth place in the rankings ladder.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli made a jump of three places to No.6 while skipper Rohit Sharma broke into the top 10 after gaining four positions. Kohli scored 46 runs in the first innings whereas Rohit returned with scores of 39 and 16 in the second Test.
South African opener Aiden Markram entered the top 20 rankings after his brilliant second innings century against India in the second Test.
Meanwhile, Australian skipper Pat Cummins climbed to the second position after another impressive show against Pakistan in the final Test match at the MCG. Cummins took a total of 19 wickets in three Test matches against Pakistan and thus he was awarded Player of the Series.
Josh Hazlewood made a jump of four places to take the number seven position in the rankings after taking 11 wickets in three Test matches against Pakistan.
Furthermore, Pakistan wicket-keeper bat Mohammad Rizwan rose to the 17th spot after taking a jump of 10 positions, following his knocks of 88 and 22 in the MCG game.
Moreover, Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana moved to a career-high rating of 634 points and 11th rank after his 4/31 in the second game against Zimbabwe at Colombo.
