WI vs IND 2022: I can bowl four overs as the third or fourth seamer now: Hardik Pandya

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has expressed confidence that he can bowl four overs as the third or fourth seamer. Pandya has been contributing as a bowler since he has recovered from injury. The right-arm pacer didn’t bowl consistently for Gujarat Titans in the IPL however he has been able to prove his bowling fitness while playing for the national team.

It is well known that Pandya likes to bend his back and bowl short and he is enjoying bowling on foreign pitches, which are assisting him. Pandya was right on the money in the third T20I against the West Indies as he scalped one wicket of Brandon King and conceded only 19 runs in his quota of four overs.

Pandya has definitely grown in confidence and he will look to continue the good show.

“Yes, I used to bowl before. I used to be a filler in between when someone is not bowling well. I can probably say I can bowl four overs now as a third seamer or a fourth seamer where I can contribute equally as I do with the bat,” Hardik said after India’s win over West Indies in the 3rd T20I that gave them a 2-1 series lead.

Pandya added that he wanted to take his time before returning to giving his best in the bowling department. The all-rounder also admitted that he adds a lot of balance to the team.

“Obviously, I’ve enjoyed bowling,” Hardik said. “Again I’ve mentioned multiple times, that was the reason I felt I should take some time off to make sure my bowling comes off because I’ve realised when I bowl, it gives a lot of balance to the side; it gives a lot of confidence to the captain.

Hardik Pandya brings value to the team and he is currently in fine form with both bat as well the ball. The all-rounder will look to continue his good show in the upcoming matches and he is going to hold the key in the T20 World Cup.

Pandya has been ticking the right boxes and he must have grown in confidence after his impressive performances in the recent past.

After accounting for Brandon King in the third T20I, Pandya also became the first Indian player to complete the double of taking 50 wickets and scoring 500 T20I runs.

The fourth T20I between India and West Indies will be played at Florida on Saturday.
