Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has lashed out at his pupil’s critics. Kohli could only manage 51 runs off 43 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad and thus he was slammed by a lot of cricket experts for his slow strike rate.
Sharma, who guided Kohli on the right track in the early days of his career, said that Kohli has won the maximum number of matches for the country but still people raise questions about his strike rate.
Kohli scored 92 runs off just 47 balls after RCB was put into bat by Sam Curran to help his team post 241 runs on the board against PBKS.
The talisman scored seven fours and six maximums as he scored his runs at a strike rate of 195.74. Kohli has amassed 634 runs in 12 matches at an average of 70.44 and a strike rate of 153.51 in the ongoing IPL 2024 and he is the top run-getter of the tournament.
“Here is another one from the guy who has won the maximum number of matches for the country still people question about his strike rate. Brilliant performance with the bat as well as in the field. Well done champ god bless you ??” Rajkumar Sharma wrote on his Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Kohli had also lashed out at his critics and said it is easy to criticise from the box but things are different out there in the middle.
”Not really, I think all the people who talk about strike rates and me not playing spin well are the ones who love talking about this stuff. But, for me, it’s about winning the game for the team. And there is a reason you have done this for 15 years,” Virat Kohli said after his match-winning knock against Gujarat.
“You have done this, day in and day out. You have won games for your team. And I am not quite sureâ€æ if you have not been in that situation yourself, to sit and speak about the game from a box.
