New Zealand will take on the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad in their second match of the ongoing World Cup 2023 on Monday. The Kiwis had made a winning start to their campaign, beating the defending champions England convincingly by nine wickets and with 82 balls to spare in the tournament’s opener.
Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway had lit the World Cup on fire with their fine centuries. The two left-handers had played at the top of the game and added a gargantuan alliance of 273 runs.
Ravindra scored a magnificent knock of 123 whereas Conway played a blistering innings of 152 runs. Furthermore, Mitchell Santner and Matt Henry had scalped two and three wickets respectively as the Blackcaps ticked all the right boxes as a unit.
Meanwhile, there will be selection headaches for New Zealand as their full-time skipper Kane Williamson is expected to return to the final XI. Moreover, Lockie Ferguson should also be available for selection.
On the other hand, the Netherlands did a decent job with the ball against Pakistan in the opening game as they were able to skittle out the opposition for 286. However, the Dutch could not come up with a collective batting effort and it led to their downfall. Thus, the Men in Orange will aim to turn the tables with the bat against the Kiwis.
