World Cup 2023: South Africa’s Schedule, Probable Playing XI, Squad – All you need to know

On multiple occasions, South Africa have floundered in major ICC events. The Proteas have always had a decent team but they have lacked collective effort in the knockout matches. In fact, South Africa could only win three out of their nine matches in the previous edition of the ODI World Cup 2019 and thus failed to make it to the semifinals.

Recently, the Rainbow nation came from behind to win the series against Australia by 3-2 and it must have added to their confidence. Players like Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen and Kagiso Rabada will hold the key for them as they have been in prolific form. But they will miss the services of Anrich Nortje, who has performed consistently in the Indian conditions while playing in the IPL.

South Africa’s Schedule for ODI World Cup 2023:

October 7, 2 PM: South Africa v Sri Lanka (Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi)
October 12, 2 PM: South Africa v Australia (Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow)
October 17, 2 PM: South Africa v Netherlands (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala)
October 21, 2 PM: South Africa v England (Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai)
October 24, 2 PM: South Africa v Bangladesh (Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai)
October 27, 2 PM: South Africa v Pakistan (MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai)
November 1, 2 PM: South Africa v New Zealand (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Gahunje, Pune)
November 5, 2 PM: South Africa v India (Eden Gardens, Kolkata)
November 10, 2 PM: South Africa v Afghanistan (Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad).

South Africa Probable Playing XI: Temba Bavuma, Quinton De Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi/Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi.

South Africa squad: Temba Bavuma (c), Gerald Coetzee, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Lizaad Williams.
