Australia’s former spinner Brad Hogg believes Rishabh Pant is going to be a star over the next ten years. Pant has been in rollicking form in the recent past as he has ticked the right boxes while batting as well as wicket-keeping.
The southpaw has delivered the goods with the bat especially in overseas conditions and also improved his wicket-keeping skills.
Pant has the skills to turn the match on its head and he likes to hit the ground running. The pugnacious southpaw batsman is known to catapult his attack on the opposition and he can make a deep impact on the game if he gets settled.
Pant has been in sublime form in the last six months and he has batted at the top of his game. The left-hander had scored 274 runs in three Test matches against Australia and had played a key role in India’s win Down Under. Subsequently, he scored 270 runs in the four Test matches against England and continued his prolific form in the Test matches.
Pant had scored a match-winning knock of 89 runs in the historic Gabba Test match. Furthermore, he had also scored a fine counter-attacking knock of 101 runs off just 118 balls against England.
However, Pant couldn’t get going in the World Test Championship final as he was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson for only four runs. Pant was dismissed while playing a poor shot away from the body.
“This is going to be a very interesting couple of months for Rishabh Pant in English conditions with the Dukes ball moving. I am interested to see how his game plan changes. If it does, is he going to continue playing his attacking game, or is he going to be a bit more defensive?
I really hope he goes after the bowling because if he does then it will be a good counteract to swing bowling. He is going to be a superstar over the next ten years,” Brad Hogg stated on his YouTube Channel.
Pant has shown the skills to go a long way in his career and he will look to deliver the goods for the Indian team.
