You are not learning from your mistakes – Ahmad Shahzad slams Pakistan batters for poor show against Bangladesh

Pakistan’s out-of-favor batter Ahmad Shahzad lashed out at Pakistan batters for their poor show against Bangladesh. Shahzad feels the batters are not learning from their mistakes. The hosts posted a competitive score of 274 runs on the board in the first innings in the second Test match at Rawalpindi but they were bundled out for 172 in the second chapter with none of their batters going past the 50-run mark.

The Pakistan batsmen have failed to convert their starts into substantial scores and it has led to the team’s downfall. Furthermore, Pakistan was skittled out for a paltry score of 146 runs in the second essay of the opening Test and thus they were stunned by 10 wickets.

Shahzad said on X while posting a video on his account, “Bangladeshi bowlers strike back. And the Bangladeshi bowlers have once again made the Pakistani batsmen dance to their tunes. The same shot selections that we have been talking about — the T20 shots — we have seen them once again. The bat of the batsman is going so far away from his body. In T20 cricket or in T10 cricket as well, when a player gets out like this, the coaches question them.”

“You are getting out by hitting these shots in Test cricket. You are not learning from your mistakes. Maybe you don’t have the desire or the skills. Or maybe we are making a mistake by putting expectations on you or this nation is making a mistake by putting expectations on you. You are playing with their emotions like this,” he added.

Pakistan has lost their last four Test matches and Shahzad feels losses against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan haven’t been a fluke.

“The Bangladesh cricket Test team has come here. They have defeated you in the first match and made history. After that, they are dominating in the second match as well. This means that this is not a fluke. When you lose to Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, or Ireland, these things are not a fluke. This is the reality of Pakistan cricket. You have brought Pakistan cricket to this level,” Shahzad said in the same video.

At stumps on Day 4, Bangladesh were 42-0 and need another 143 runs to win. Pakistan, on the other hand, needs all 10 wickets to level the series.
