Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has picked Rohit Sharma to bat for his life ignoring the likes of Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Rohit has performed consistently for India over the years, especially in the white-ball formats and his red-ball performances have also improved in the last three years.
The Indian captain recently took India to glory in the T20 World Cup. Rohit also led from the front as he scored 257 runs in eight matches of the T20I showpiece. After the World Cup triumph, Rohit decided to hang his boots from the T20I format.
However, Rohit will continue to lead India in Test and ODI matches. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh played with Rohit when the latter was rising through the ranks. Rohit made his India debut in the 2007 T20 World Cup match against England, in which Yuvraj smashed Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over.
During an interview with Sportskeeda, when Yuvraj was asked, “Which cricketer would you pick to bat for your life?” He mentioned Rohit’s name.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj played under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni and picked Sourav Ganguly as the best Indian captain he played under.
“They all have been captains, and I have played with Dhoni and Ganguly for a long time. But I think I started under Ganguly, so I would say Ganguly.”
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma will lead India in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The opening Test will be played in Chennai from September 19.
