India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has rated Kuldeep Yadav as the No. 1 wrist spinner in the world. Yadav recently did a fantastic job for India in the Champions Trophy and played a key role in taking Rohit Sharma’s team to glory.
In the final clash against New Zealand, the left-arm wrist spinner was able to get rid of Rachin Ravindra with a wrong one, which was his first ball of the match. Ravindra was taking the game away from India but Yadav was able to bamboozle him.
Yadav was also able to bag the crucial wicket of former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and returned with impressive figures of 2-40 in his quota of 10 overs.
Kuldeep picked seven wickets in five matches of the eight-team tournament at an average of 31.86.
Chahal said via Hindustan Times, “I don’t think about what is not in my hands. Right now, he ( Kuldeep) is the No. 1 wrist spinner in the world. It shows in the way he is bowling both in IPL and international cricket.”
Chahal said he shares a great bond with Kuldeep on and off the field. Chahal and Kuldeep performed consistently for India before the former veered off the track.
“I have loved bowling with Kuldeep. We enjoy a great bonding, on and off the field. It shows. It was fun bowling with him because we have a similar approach to bowling. Both of us love to attack. It was also partnership bowling. When one of us would go for runs, the other would make it tighter from the other end. We always trusted each other,” said Chahal in the aforementioned interview.
While Chahal will play for Punjab Kings in the IPL, Kuldeep will represent Delhi Capitals in the lucrative tournament.
