Amorim after Forest draw: Man Utd would’ve lost last season

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim believes the club would have lost against Nottingham Forest after they managed a 2-2 draw at the City Ground on Saturday. Amad Diallo scored a late equaliser for the Red Devils to help his team share the spoils.

Meanwhile, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro opened the scoring for the visitors in the 34th minute. However, after the half-time break, Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona scored in quick succession for Nottingham Forest to put them in front.

“Yes, and for more goals, I think that is my feeling,” Amorim said.

“We lost control of the game for five minutes and we paid a price.

“I think we did some things well. I think also that our level of energy, we dropped a little bit. And when our team drops a little bit, the energy, you can feel it.

“In the past, if we had this kind of bad five minutes and we suffered two goals, we didn’t recover.

“Today is a different feeling. You can sense that we could not win this game, but we are not going to lose. And that is a feeling that a big team sometimes has to have.”

“But my feeling is that the players tried, really tried. They tried during the week and they tried today.

“In the past, if we had this kind of bad five minutes and we suffered two goals, we didn’t recover. Today is a different feeling.

“You can sense that we could not win this game, but we are not going to lose and that is a feeling that a big team sometimes has to have.

“We have a big opportunity to win in the end, but my feeling is we dropped two points here and we should have done better.”

United have been unbeaten in their last four matches, and they would look to carry the good show in the upcoming matches.

Manchester United will next take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
