Indian Super League outfit Bengaluru FC confirmed on Sunday that promising young forward Chingangbam Shivaldo Singh has committed his future to the club, signing a new three-year deal that will keep him in the blue of Bengaluru until the end of the 2027-28 season.
The 20-year-old striker, regarded as one of the most exciting emerging talents in Indian football, has made 15 appearances for the club over the past two seasons. His progress was recognized with a call-up to India’s U-23 national team for upcoming friendlies against Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic in Dushanbe later this month.
“I’m really happy to have signed a new deal with Bengaluru FC, a club where I’ve grown immensely over the last few years,” Shivaldo said. “I’m grateful to the coaches and management for putting their faith in me, and to the fans for their support.”
Reflecting on the challenges of the past season, Shivaldo added, “The season gone by was one that tested me, and I’m thankful to the club for supporting me through this period. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s future successes.”
Shivaldo made his senior debut for the Blues against Mumbai City FC in 2023 and quickly made his mark by scoring his first goal later that season in a 2-1 victory over FC Goa. His performances earned him the club’s Emerging Player of the Season award for the 2023-24 campaign. Later that year, he also made a striking debut for India’s U-23 team, scoring in his first international appearance against Malaysia in a friendly.
This contract extension is the latest in a series of long-term commitments Bengaluru FC has secured, following the recent renewals of Naorem Roshan Singh and Lalremtluanga Fanai. The moves underline the club’s intent to build a stable core of young Indian talent as it aims for future success both domestically and in continental competitions.
Shivaldo’s development and rise through the ranks represent a growing investment in youth at Bengaluru FC, with the club clearly banking on homegrown talent to drive its ambitions. With a new deal now in place, fans will be keenly watching Shivaldo’s next steps as he continues to grow into one of Indian football’s brightest prospects.
