Chennaiyin FC have added more firepower to their attack by signing Brazilian forward Ramon Tanque on loan for the 2026-27 season.
The 27-year-old arrives at the Marina Machans from Indonesian champion Persib Bandung and becomes Chennaiyin’s 13th signing ahead of the new campaign. The move gives the club an experienced centre-forward who has delivered goals across different leagues in Asia.
Tanque was part of Persib Bandung’s title-winning squad during the 2025-26 campaign. He featured 28 times across competitions last season and scored eight goals in the Indonesian Super League, playing his part as Persib successfully defended its championship.
His most prolific season, however, came immediately before his spell in Indonesia.
Playing for Cambodian club Visakha FC in 2024-25, Tanque scored 21 goals in 28 Cambodian Premier League appearances and also provided five assists. His goalscoring form saw him finish as the league’s leading scorer and earn the Golden Boot.
The Brazilian’s career has taken him through several countries. Born in Belém, Tanque started his professional journey in Brazil before making the switch to European football with Austrian club FC Dornbirn.
He later moved to Asia and built a reputation as a regular goalscorer during spells in Cambodia and Indonesia. His physical strength, movement in attack and ability to finish chances are expected to offer Chennaiyin another dimension in the final third.
The move to Chennaiyin will mark Tanque’s first experience of Indian football, and the striker said he is looking forward to taking on the challenge.
“I am very happy and motivated for this new challenge in my career. It will be my first time playing in India, and I am excited about this opportunity. My goal is to help Chennaiyin FC return to a winning path and achieve success again. I know the challenge ahead is a big one, but I am truly encouraged by the project that the head coach and the club’s management presented to me,” Tanque said.
With his arrival, Chennaiyin have continued their significant squad rebuild ahead of the 2026-27 season. After productive campaigns in Cambodia and Indonesia, Tanque will now look to carry his goalscoring form into his first season in India.
