The Durand Cup 2026 has reached its decisive stage, with four teams remaining in contention for the title following the completion of the quarterfinals on Monday.
East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, NorthEast United FC and Sporting Club Delhi have secured their places in the semifinals. The last-eight stage saw Shillong Lajong and Jamshedpur FC among the sides eliminated as the tournament field was reduced to four.
The first semifinal will take place on August 19, when East Bengal face Sporting Club Delhi at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm IST.
East Bengal will be looking to make home advantage count as they attempt to book a place in the Durand Cup final. Sporting Club Delhi, meanwhile, will have the opportunity to continue their run in the competition by overcoming the Kolkata side.
Attention will then shift to Shillong for the second semifinal on August 20. NorthEast United FC will take on Mohun Bagan at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with kick-off also scheduled for 7pm IST.
The fixture sets up another significant contest, with both teams now just one victory away from reaching the final.
The semifinal lineup also means Kolkata will have two representatives competing for the trophy. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan have been kept apart at this stage, leaving open the possibility that both could advance to the title clash.
NorthEast United and Sporting Club Delhi, however, will be aiming to prevent that scenario and secure their own places in the final.
With the quarterfinals completed, the competition now moves quickly into its final phase. East Bengal and Sporting Club Delhi will have the first opportunity to secure a final berth on Wednesday, August 19, before NorthEast United and Mohun Bagan battle for the remaining place a day later.
