The group stage of FIFA World Cup 2026 came to a close on Saturday. This was the first time when 48 teams have participated in the quadrennial event and now there will no room for complacency as the knockout stage will begin on Sunday.
History was created as nine out of the ten African nations, barring Tunisia, qualified for the round of 32. Meanwhile, Portugal and Argentina can meet each other in the summit if both nations win their next four games.
