Former Gokulam Kerala technical director Bino George joins Kerala United FC as their new head coach

Former Gokulam Kerala FC technical director Bino George has joined Kerala United as they gear up for the I-League second division. The Hornbills have announced the signing of the veteran tactician on Monday.

Bino George was earlier with I-League outfit Gokulam Kerala FC serving as a head coach and later was promoted to a Technical Director role. The Malabarians have been extremely successful with him as the technical director as they bagged the Durand Cup, then clinched the Indian Women’s League and recently won the I-League title last season.  His addition to Kerala United FC can be a gamechanger for the Hornbills as he knows the Indian football scene like the back of his palm.

Bino George is also the pride of Kerala as he is the only AFC Pro License holder coach in God’s own country. He started his professional coaching career from Viva Kerala. He was an assistant coach at the club for five long years before moving to Quartz FC. It was at Quartz where he got his first job as a head coach. His only stint out of Kerala was a couple of years with United Sports in Kolkata maidan. He then returned to Kerala in 2017 and joined Gokulam Kerala and from there as they say is history.

The 44-year-old tactician was delighted to join a new project like Kerala United. He said,” “I’m very proud to be a part of Kerala United FC, and excited about the challenge ahead. I always wanted to get back to football coaching and this is the best opportunity any coach could ask for and to be able to make a difference wherever I go.

“My intention is to give the best for the club and take the club to the top level of Indian Football. I’m really looking forward to joining the team as soon as I can.”

t was a moment of joy for CEO Shabeer Mannaril said, “Bino brings with him the tremendous experience of having worked with clubs in the top successful clubs. What drew me to appointing him was his vision of developing Kerala Football by bringing several new professional players from Kerala and taking our project to the highest level.”
