Great honour to play in Hero ISL – Alberto Noguera

Hero Indian Super League shield winners FC Goa have strengthened their mid-field after the inclusion of Spaniard Alberto Noguero for the upcoming season of the league 2020-21. Noguera stated that it would be a great honour for him to play in the Hero ISL. The 30-year old wants to make the most of his opportunity of playing in the ISL.

Noguera believes that playing in the ISL will help him keep improving as a player. The midfielder added that he would train harder for the upcoming season and give his best to the club. Noguera understands it is a short league but he is looking forward to having a good pre-season with FC Goa.

“It’s a great honour for me to play in the Hero ISL and a great opportunity for me to keep improving. I know it’s a short league but if we have a good pre-season, that will be the secret for our season… I will try to train hard and be fit to play all the matches as soon as possible. I will take a direct approach and score as many goals as I can. I will try my best like all players,” Noguera said while talking to goal.com.

Noguera will aim to grab his opportunities with both hands and add value to the midfield of FC Goa. The 30-year-old has played at different levels in the Spanish Football and he feels it will be an upgrade for him to move to FC Goa, which will help him get better as a player in his career.

“They are different leagues (Hero ISL and Spanish Segunda Division). The Spanish leagues are different but for me, going to Goa is an upgrade, I think, to improve my career. I hope to have a good experience and contribute to improving the league and my team,” Noguera said.

Noguera added that the level of football in the Hero ISL is good and the standards are improving with every passing season. The midfielder will also have the company of Spanish players like Igor Angulo, Jorge Ortiz and Ivan Gonzalez. Thus, he would aim to deliver the goods for FC Goa, which is yet to savour success in the ISL despite making it to the two finals.

The ISL 2020-21 season will begin from November 21 behind closed doors.
