Hyderabad FC’s Late Surge Salvages Draw Against NorthEast United in ISL Thriller

In a dramatic Indian Super League (ISL) showdown on Monday night, Hyderabad FC showcased resilience and determination to come from behind and secure a 2-2 draw against NorthEast United FC at the Gachibowli Stadium.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams displaying moments of brilliance and lapses of concentration, ultimately sharing the spoils in a fiercely contested battle.

NorthEast United FC seemed poised for a victory, thanks to Parthib Gogoi’s remarkable long-range effort in the 32nd minute, ending his nine-match goal drought and marking his fourth goal of the season. Gogoi’s strike exploited Hyderabad FC’s defensive vulnerabilities, setting the tone for what appeared to be a long night for the home side.

The visitors doubled their advantage early in the second half when Hyderabad FC’s defender, Alex Saji, inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, adding to the woes of Juan Pedro Benali’s team. Despite the setback, Hyderabad FC’s seasoned goalkeeper, Laxmikant Kattimani, emerged as a beacon of hope, making crucial saves and maintaining composure under pressure to keep his team in the game.

Hyderabad FC’s relentless spirit was epitomized by Makhan Chothe, who breathed life into the home team’s comeback with a headed goal in the 70th minute, ending his own scoring drought. Chothe’s perseverance paid dividends, as his subsequent effort led to Joao Victor’s equalizing tap-in, showcasing the team’s never-say-die attitude and their belief in the youthful squad.

The match ended as only the fifth game from which Hyderabad FC managed to salvage a point this season, showing the team’s fighting spirit and the tactical acumen of their coaching staff. The dramatic comeback also served as a testament to the ISL’s competitive edge and the emerging talent within the league.

As the ISL season progresses, matches like these not only provide thrilling entertainment for the fans but also shape the character and resolve of the teams involved. Hyderabad FC’s dramatic fightback will be remembered as a significant moment in their campaign, demonstrating the importance of teamwork, and the never-say-die attitude that defines sports at its best.
