FC Goa’s defender Seriton Fernandes has said he will do whatever it takes to help his team win trophies again. The Gaurs had recently extended the contract of Seriton Fernandes and Princeton Rebello in the previous week.
Meanwhile, Seriton has all the experience under his belt as he has played more than 100 matches for FC Goa between 2017 and 2022. He also led the Gaurs in the previous edition of the Hero ISL on some occasions.
Overall, Fernandes has played 95 matches in the Hero Indian Super League and will look to bring his best for the club after extending his contract by two years.
Meanwhile, Fernandes has had the opportunity of sharing the pitch with Carlos Pena, who will be the team’s head coach for the next season and has shared some good memories with him.
Fernandes said, “Carlos (Pena) and I were teammates previously, a couple of seasons ago. Back then, he had helped me a lot, especially in improving my technique. I was excited to learn that he was coming back and I look forward to learning more from him. That’s what I expect, nothing less. We have to qualify for the playoffs and compete for the trophy.”
The defender added that he is going to work hard and he will try to score more goals and provide more assists to his team.
“I have to, and will work harder than ever. In terms of individual performance, I would like to score goals and make more assists. The idea is to try and be better in all ways possible so that I can do whatever it takes to help my team win trophies again.”
On the other hand, Princeton Rebello also signed a two-year extension with FC Goa ahead of the new season. The midfielder added his dream is to win the Hero ISL title for FC Goa fans.
“FC Goa is my home and my dream is to win the ISL with the club, for their fans and for the people of Goa. Hence, I did not have to think twice before signing a new deal.”
