Bengaluru FC has signed the services of Spanish midfielder Pablo Perez until the end of the ongoing season of the Hero Indian Super League 2022-23, the club announced on Monday in an official statement.
The club will hope that Pablo Perez will help the Blues in turning the tables in the ongoing season. Simon Grayson’s team has managed two wins and one draw. The Blues have suffered five losses in the eight matches they have played and they are struggling in the ninth position with a total of seven points.
Perez has all the experience under his belt as he has played more than 200 matches in Spanish club football. Thus, he will look to add value to Bengaluru FC’s midfield.
He started his footballing journey at Colegio de la Inmaculada at the age of seven before joining Sporting Gijon’s youth system.
Subsequently, he went on make his senior debut with the reserves team during the 2011-12 season in the Segunda Divison. The midfielder made his La Liga debut in 2015 against Valencia CF.
Perez is delighted to join hands with Bengaluru FC and he is looking forward to his stint.
“I’m really glad to sign for Bengaluru FC and I’m looking forward to the season ahead. My discussions with the coach and a few others who are aware of the club and the league were very positive. I’m eager to start training and be able to contribute to the team’s efforts this season. I want to work hard and try my best to help this team reach the playoffs,” said Perez in an official statement.
“We’re delighted to have Pablo here with us. What we’ve identified is a player who is very versatile, and can play in many attacking positions. Pablo has several years of experience playing for Sporting Gijon at a very good level in Spain. We’ve watched him, spoken to him and also several others who knew about him, and we felt he was a good fit for us. We welcome Pablo to the club, and hopefully, he is a big success for us,” said Grayson.
Bengaluru FC will next take on Kerala Blasters at Kochi on Sunday.
