Former Indian player Darren Caldeira has showered praise on Hyderabad FC’s defender Sana Singh, tipping him as one of the best Indian centre-backs. Singh had played an instrumental role in taking the Nizams to glory in the previous season of the Hero ISL.
The Manipur-born has once again done a good job for Manuel Marquez’s team in the ongoing edition of the league. The 26-year-old has scored one goal in 10 matches for Hyderabad in the ongoing ISL 2022-23 and he has kept the opposition’s attack at bay.
“He is one of the best Indian centre-backs right now and is the first choice for both club and country, and he is still so very young,” stated former Indian player and commentator Darren Caldeira as quoted by the league’s official website.
Caldeira also says that ”Sana is not one of the quickest centre-backs, but he makes up for that and stays in the right position at the right time.”
The youngster revealed the support of his family played a key role in his love affair with football.
“My family was supportive in all aspects, and that is how you fall in love with the game,” he says.
Sana’s teammate Akash Mishra, who shares the pitch with him, also heaped praise on the defender.
“Sana is one of the best ball-playing defenders for me in India, and he makes our team stronger,” stated Akash Mishra.
On the other hand, the team’s gaffer Manuel Marquez also lauded Singh’s attitude on the ground.
“He is usually in the national team, so that means that his level is improving day by day, and his attitude is always fantastic.”
Singh added his aim is to play a key role in the success of the team and keep delivering for the club.
“What I can do is contribute to the team, which is most important at Hyderabad FC, to get individual qualities out for the team to make the team win and get success,” concluded Chinglensana Singh.
Chinglensana Singh will be in action in the team’s next match against Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru on 23rd December.
