SC East Bengal have signed the services of Naocha Singh on loan from defending champions Mumbai City for the rest of the season. Singh had played an instrumental role in helping Gokulam Kerala win the I-League in 2020-21 season.
Furthermore, the youngster had also played a key role in the success of his team in 2019 Durand Cup. The young defender kicked off his footballing career with NEROCA FC’s youth set-up and went on to play for TRAU FC. He once again played NEROCA FC in the Hero I-League 2018-19.
Singh said he is looking forward to giving his best for the club and will want to contribute to the team’s success.
“I am looking forward to turning out for SC East Bengal. It is such a prestigious club and has such rich history. I will try and help the team this season and also get important minutes under my belt,” said Naocha on his transfer.
SC East Bengal head coach Mario Rivera heaped praise on the youngster and lauded his defensive skills.
“Naocha is a strong defender with impressive qualities, and we are very happy to have him with us SC East Bengal. At a very young age, he has tasted success and also knows what it means to play big clubs in India.”
Meanwhile, Singh didn’t play any matches for Mumbai City FC and he will be looking forward to making his Hero ISL debut for SC East Bengal.
The Red and Yellow brigade is struggling to get going in the ongoing season as they have managed a solitary win out of the 14 matches they played. They have lost seven matches while six of their fixtures have ended in a draw.
Furthermore, the club has conceded 28 goals thus far, which is the joint-most with NorthEast United FC and Naocha Singh will look to strengthen the team’s defense.
