Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori has made a return to Jamshedpur FC, ahead of the ninth season of the Hero Indian Super League. Priori was part of the Jamshedpur FC’s debut season in the tournament and makes a return after four years.
The Brazilian has the experience of playing in Thailand, South Korea and Brazil. The 32-year-old had made his Hero ISL debut with NorthEast United in 2016 and then went on to play for the Red Miners in the following season.
Meanwhile, the midfielder has scored some spectacular goals in the tournament and he will look to replicate the same success while playing for the Furnace in the forthcoming season of the ISL.
Priori is delighted to make a return to Jamshedpur FC and he will be looking to deliver his best for the club, which has once again shown faith in him.
“I am coming back home where I belong. The time I spent with the club was amazing, and I am thrilled to be playing again at the furnace before the loyal and passionate Jamshedpur fans. Working with Aidy Boothroyd, who has abundant experience, will definitely help us succeed as a team. I will work hard with my teammates to win more silverware for Jamshedpur,” he said.
Coach Aidy Boothroyd was happy at Wellington’s signing and said, “Wellington has all the attributes which you look for in a midfielder – he is technical, good with the ball, gets goals, and has experience of playing in the ISL. He is coming home, having played for the club earlier and will help him to hit the ground running.”
Priori will don the number five jersey and he will join the squad in preseason in mid-August
