ISL champions Hyderabad FC has roped in the services of full-back Manoj Mohammad ahead of the ninth season of the Hero Indian Super League 2022-23, the club announced on Wednesday. The 23-year-old defender is delighted after signing a three-year deal with the club and he will look to give his best in the upcoming matches.
Mohammad has the experience of playing in the Hero I-league and he will look to make the most of it while playing for Hyderabad FC.
“I am really happy to sign for this club at this stage of my career,” said Manoj, after penning his contract. “I can’t wait to get on the pitch and I promise to give my best in every training session and in every game,” he added.
Mohammad had started his career with East Bengal academy as a youngster. Subsequently, he played 16 matches for the senior team and then went on to join Mohammedan SC in 2020.
Mohammad was an integral part of the team and made 29 appearances for the club’s first team. He also played a key role in helping the club finish at second place in the Hero I-league campaign in the 2021-22 season.
The youngster also provided a few assists to his teammates in the previous season. Furthermore, he was part of the Mohammedan side that won the Calcutta Football League title after 40 years.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC had finished the previous season in second place in the standings after 11 wins from 20 matches. Manuel Marquez’s team then went on to beat ATK Mohun Bagan in the semifinal and then defeated Kerala Blasters on penalties.
On the other hand, Mumbai City has signed the services of Jorge Diaz, who had played for Kerala Blasters FC in the previous season.
Diaz had played an instrumental role in taking Kerala Blasters to the final of the tournament as he had scored eight goals and also provided one assist in 21 matches he played in the last season.
