Hero ISL champions Hyderabad FC have roped in the services of Reagan Singh on a season-long loan ahead of the ninth edition of the tournament. The former Chennayin FC will play for Manuel Marquez’s team in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Singh started his professional career with Royal Wahingdoh in the Hero I-League in 2012. Subsequently, after three years with Royal Wahingdoh, he spent five years with NorthEast United in ISL before making a move to the Mariners.
Singh has all the experience of playing in the Hero ISL as he has played 105 matches in the tournament. Chennai had signed the center-back from NorthEast United ahead of the Hero Indian Super League 2020-21 season.
Singh expressed his delight after he signed a deal with the reigning champions.
He said in the club statement, “I am really happy to join Hyderabad FC and to train under coach Monolo is an honour. I think he is the best coach in the country and this is a great challenge for me. I look forward to working and learning as a team and can’t wait to get started.”
The 31-year-old from Manipur will look to be at his best for the club and deliver the goods in the upcoming season. Singh will replace Asish Rai in the defensive line for the Nizams.
On the other hand, Hyderabad FC has qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Durand Cup 2022. The Nizams secured their place in the last eight teams of the competition after beating NEROCA FC by 3-0 in Imphal as Joel Chianese and Bartholomew Ogbeche scored for the club.
Hyderabad FC will begin their title defense against Mumbai City FC on October 9, in Hyderabad in the Hero ISL as the schedule was announced on Thursday..
