Former Indian football captain IM Vijayan reckons Kerala Blasters have signed players who give a lot of confidence to the team. The Tuskers had finished the previous season as runners-up as they came up with a fine show under the tutelage of Ivan Vukamanovic.
The Yellow Army once again look like a force to reckon with as they added players like Ivan Kaliuzhnyi, Dimitrios Diamantakos, Apostolos Giannou, and Victor Mongil to their squad for the ongoing season of the Hero ISL.
However, Kerala Blasters FC hasn’t gotten off to a great start as they have lost three matches while they have won two out of the five games they have played.
Ivan Kaliuzhnyi has done a fine job for the team as he has scored three goals in five matches.
“Kerala Blasters have signed players who give a lot of confidence to the team. It’s only the beginning of the season,” Vijayan said in an exclusive interview with the Hero ISL. “There are more games. Let’s pray for a good result.”
Indian veteran IM Vijayan also showered praise on gaffer Ivan Vukomanovic, who has done a fine job in getting the best out of the players.
“Indisputably, the team possesses one of the top coaches in the league. The game has shifted to another level under Ivan,” Vijayan said.
Vijayan also lauded the Kerala fans for their unwavering support of the team.
“Not much to say to Kerala Blasters fans. They support the team a lot. They are the strength of the team. It’s an honor to have number one supporters,” Vijayan said.
The former great also feels the Hero ISL viewership has also increased in the last two years.
“Not much to say to Kerala Blasters fans. They support the team a lot. They are the strength of the team. It’s an honor to have number one supporters,” Vijayan said.
Kerala Blasters will next take on FC Goa on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.
