Jamshedpur FC captain Khalid Jamil lauded his players after 3-1 win against FC Goa at the JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium, Jamshedpur in the ongoing Indian Super League 2024-25 on Sunday.
Serbian defender Lazar Cirkovic scored the opening goal for the home team as he found the back of the net in the 34th minute. Soon after, Javier Siverio scored the team’s second goal but Ayush Chhetri got one back for the Gaurs before the half time whistle.
However, Siverio put the game to bed as he scored his second goal of the evening in the 68th minute and thus he was awarded Player of the Match. The home team had only 38.1% possession but took 10 shots on target as they were successful in putting pressure on the opposition.
“Yes, everybody worked very hard. Because of the players, we got this result. They must continue in the same spirit,” Jamil said in the post-match press conference.
Jamil urged his team to continue in the same fashion for the upcoming matches.
“Yes, team spirit was good. We must continue like this,” Jamil stated.
“We are going to play an away game. So, we must keep it up, and we must think about the next game,” he continued.
The Indian coach also gave his gratitude to the team’s fans who supported the team in huge numbers.
“Yes, we are very thankful to them. They are supporting all the players,” he remarked.
“Players are also working very hard because of the fans. They (fans) are supporting the team. That is also one of the reasons we are getting the result,” Jamil signed off.
Jamshedpur FC will next take on Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday.
