FC Goa has parted ways with forward Alvaro Vazquez, the club announced through their social media handles on Saturday. The Spaniard had scored eight goals in 23 matches for Kerala Blasters FC in the 2021-22 edition of the tournament and thus he had played an instrumental role in taking the team to the final of the season, but they ended up losing to Hyderabad FC.
Subsequently, he moved to Gaurs on a two-year deal in the last season but played for a solitary season. But he could not replicate the same success which he achieved while playing for the Tuskers, as he could only score a solitary goal in 17 matches and provided three assists for FC Goa in ISL 2022-23 season.
On the other hand, NorthEast United FC has signed the services of young goalkeeper Dipesh Chauhan. The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Highlanders.
NorthEast United FC assistant coach Naushad Moosa showered praise on the youngster, stating, “The arrival of Dipesh Chauhan brings an exciting dimension to our team. He’s a young and promising goalkeeper who has already shown remarkable skills, confidence, and leadership qualities. With his determination and our supportive environment, I believe he will thrive and contribute significantly to our goals.”
Dipesh is also delighted to join hands with the Highlanders and said his aim is to become a better player and take his career on the right track.
He said, “For a young player like me, better growth opportunities are important, and I’m absolutely delighted to have joined the Highlanders for that reason. My aim is to be a better player and give my career a new direction in order to achieve my life goals. I’ll give my best for the team to win all possible trophies.”
Speaking on the arrival of Dipesh Chauhan, NorthEast United FC CEO Mandar Tamhane said, “I’m delighted to see our vision at NorthEast United FC taking shape. With all the youth signings that have been made, we have a very competitive setup in place, which aligns perfectly with our aim to foster young talents and build a strong team. We are excited to support his growth and development.”
