Odisha FC has revealed they have decided to part ways with goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh, who spend a total of three years at the club. The team took to social media to announce the news on Tuesday. Singh joined Odisha FC from Minerva Punjab FC in the 2019-20 season and he was able to hit the ground running.
Odisha wrote on Twitter, “Once a Juggernaut, always a Juggernaut ? Thank you Arsh for everything”.
The 24-year-old youngster made a total of eight appearances in his debut season in the ISL and he was able to impress. Subsequently, he played 16 matches in the next season and he was the first choice goalkeeper for the team.
But his Hero ISL 2021-22 season was troubled by injury. The youngster has made a total of 116 saves in the tournament and he will look to continue the good show if he joins some other team.
“I’ve been at the club for three years. It’s been a great journey with Odisha FC. It’s been my family and it’s never a nice feeling to leave your family. But sometimes you have to do what is best for you and the club. Maybe some day, I will be back here again,” an emotional Arshdeep in his farewell video with the club.
Meanwhile, Odisha goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh will aim to deliver the goods for the team in the next season and take the baton forward.
On the other hand, Odisha FC finished at seventh position in Hero ISL 2021-22 standings with six wins and a total of 23 points in their 20 league stage matches. Thus, they failed to qualify for the semifinal stages and they will be determined to turn the tables in the next season.
