Hero Indian Super League outfit Odisha FC has signed the services of talisman striker Roy Krishna on a one-year contract, the club announced on Saturday. The veteran has all the experience under his belt in the tournament and he will look to deliver for Kalinga Warriors.
The Fijian is the fourth-highest goalscorer in the Hero ISL, with 42 goals in 82 games, and has also provided 23 assists. The 35-year-old scored six goals and provided five assists in Hero ISL 2022-23 season for Bengaluru FC and played an instrumental role in taking the team to the final of the tournament.
Roy Krishna will join forward forces with Diego Mauricio, who was awarded the Golden Boot award in the previous season with 12 goals in 21 matches. Odisha FC had qualified for the playoffs for the first time in the last edition of the tournament and also went on to win the Hero Super Cup by beating Bengaluru FC in the summit clash.
On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC has acquired the services of Serbian midfielder Alen Stevanovic. The Serbian is delighted to join hands with Red Miners for a two-year contract.
“It’s an honour to be a part of Jamshedpur FC. I have heard a lot about the club and its fans and I’m excited to finally come to the city and play,” Alen Stevanovic said on joining the Men of Steel.
“The club were the previous ISL Shield Winner, and I genuinely believe that with the support from fans and the right attitude and approach, we will be able to get back to the top once again. I’m looking forward to working with the coaching staff and with my experience and the team’s overall quality, I’m sure we can get the club back to where it belongs.”
Jamshedpur FC’s new head coach Scott Cooper is also delighted with the signing of Alen Stevanovic. Stevanovic will bring a lot of experience from Europe as he was part of teams like Torino FC, Palermo, SSC Bari and Spezia, and Inter Milan.
