Jamshedpur FC has confirmed the contract extension of defender Sarthak Golui for the 2025-26 season, following a string of solid performances in the Durand Cup earlier this year.
The 27-year-old defender, hailing from Kolkata, made a strong impression during the Men of Steel’s campaign, where he not only anchored the backline but also netted the team’s first goal of the season. Golui featured in every match of the tournament, playing a key role in helping Jamshedpur reach the quarterfinals with his blend of defensive discipline and attacking support.
“I am very happy to extend my stay and continue my journey with Jamshedpur FC,” Golui said after putting pen to paper. “I look forward to creating many special memories with the club, both on and off the pitch.”
A versatile player capable of operating both as a centre-back and a right-back, Golui is a product of the AIFF Elite Academy. His career has seen him turn out for some of India’s biggest clubs, including Mohun Bagan, Pune City, Mumbai City FC, East Bengal, and Chennaiyin FC. Prior to joining Jamshedpur, he featured for Inter Kashi in the I-League during the 2023-24 season.
His arrival at Jamshedpur FC brought immediate impact, with his goal in the Durand Cup opener setting the tone for the team’s campaign. Known for his reading of the game and commitment to both defensive duties and overlapping runs, Golui quickly became a fan favourite.
Head Coach Steven Dias expressed his satisfaction at having the defender on board for another season. “I was very impressed with the way Sarthak performed in the Durand Cup,” said Dias. “He gave everything for the team and having him with us adds real strength and character to our defence.”
With Golui’s extension, Jamshedpur FC not only secures a dependable presence at the back but also reinforces a core of Indian talent ahead of what promises to be a competitive 2025-26 season. As the club continues to build under Steven Dias, Golui’s experience and adaptability are expected to be vital components in the team’s domestic campaign.
